Indian Ambassador visits Alzahra University (March 15th, 2017)

On Thursday, March 15th, 2017, the Ambassador of India, His Excellency Dr. Saurabh Kumar, along with his wife Mrs. Smiriti Srivastav met with Dr. Mahnaz Molla Nazari, the Chancellor of the University; Dr. Parichehr Hanachi, the director of International Academic Collaboration Affairs; Dr. Afsane Tavassoli, Deputy of International and Research Affairs to the Dean of Social Sciences and Economics Faculty; Dr. Mandana Noorbakhsh, director of Linguistics Department; Dr. Mansour Hesami, Dean of Arts Faculty; Dr. Hojjatollah Javani, Theology Faculty Member and Dr. Roya Baradar, deputy of Educational Affairs and Higher Education of Education and Psychology Faculty.

The aim of this meeting was for the Ambassador to gain more knowledge about the only comprehensive women university in Iran in order to help develop the relationships between Iranian and Indian Universities. Mrs. Smiriti Srivastav is studying Persian Language in Deh-Khoda Persian Language Center.

In this meeting the following was discussed:

·       Sending and receiving delegations in between the countries

·       Exchanging Faculty Members and Students

·       Holding Summer School for Indian Students in order to get them familiar with Iranian Culture and Language, along with a course to study

Mrs. Smiriti Srivastav was very enthusiastic about the similarities and differences between Iranian and Indian Culture and Language which Dr. Tavassoli took that as anthropology and sociology instance of research method and suggested a joint research with Alzahra Faculty Member.

Dr. Hanachi asked His Excellency Dr. Saurabh Kumar about his suggestions and the manners that he can help the university to develop and he mentioned that he can manage the links with Indian Universities and help with visa processes, because there are no attaches in Indian Embassy in Iran, the help and effort of Dr. Mohammadreza Khalili, Iranian attaché in India is required. In India there is just one college for girls in Delhi University where Alzahra University can help progress.
