The fourth meeting of the National Working Group on the Coordination and Follow-up of International Scientific Cooperation with Russia was held on Saturday, January 25th, 2020 at Shahid Beheshti University with the participation of Dr. Parichehr Hanachi, Director of International Academic Collaboration of Alzahra University and Dr. Zeinab Sadeghi, representing the Russian Language departmet. At the meeting, Dr. Nasiri, the Head of Shahid Beheshti University, welcomed the guests and emphasized the importance of scientific interactions in all international relations and emphasized the need for proper policy making in this field. Given the sensitivity of scientific and technical cooperation, he considered Russia's alignment with the scientific goals of our country important.
In the continuation of the meeting, Dr. Abtahi, our former scientific adviser to Russia, outlined the benefits of scientific cooperation with Russia and prioritized increased cooperation with Russia as one of the priorities of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology. He also emphasized the importance of scientific cooperation with Central Asia and the Caucasus in view of the unique role of the Islamic Republic of Iran in this region and the deep cultural ties.
Yuri Burov, an embassy affiliate of the Russian embassy in Iran, who represented the embassy at the working group meeting, expressed satisfaction over the extensive relations between Iran and Russia over the years: We can try to act.
During the meeting of Dr. Mohsen Najafi, scientific attache of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Russia, emphasizing the importance of proper understanding of the relations and the problems facing them, he demanded certain measures to solve the problem of linguistic communication. He also said that we should try to provide the tools necessary for cooperation in the field of industry, but that the general direction of society is in the humanities, and that is why we need to emphasize the role of the humanities in sustainable development.
Following the meeting, Dr. Parichehr Hanachi, Director of Alzahra University's International Academic Collaboration, introduced Alzahra University's activities in cultural and scientific cooperation with Russia and introduced Alzahra University's cooperation with Russia since 2011.
At the end of the meeting, Dr. Ahmad Gholami, a former Iranian scientific adviser to Russia, offered suggestions for improving and expanding relations by sharing his experiences in taking charge. He also warned the universities of the country of parallel work in this field.
