The International Academic Collaboration Affairs Directorate at Alzahra University hosted a delegation from the Holy Shrine of Al-Abbas (P.B.U.H) on September 18, 2024, to foster academic cooperation with universities affiliated with the Holy Shrine in Iraq. The delegation included Ms. Bushra Al-Kanani, head of the women's branch of the Al-Kafeel Religious Schools, and Ms. Shaima Abdul-Hussein, director of Al-Amid High School, both associated with the Holy Shrine.

Dr. Nadia Mahmoudi Khatir, director of International Academic Collaboration Affairs, and Dr. Batoul Meshkinfam, head of the Women Research Center, welcomed the guests and provided an introduction to various facilities at the university, including the central library, the X-Ray Diffraction Laboratory, and the student dormitories. During the visit, the delegation engaged in meaningful discussions with several international Arab students and a group of native students studying Arabic literature.

Following this, the visiting delegation participated in a dialogue about collaborative initiatives. Dr. Zahra Nazem Bokaee, Chancellor of the university, extended a warm welcome and acknowledged the contributions of the martyr president and foreign minister of Iran, who recently passed away in a helicopter accident. She expressed gratitude to Ms. Al-Kanani for the hospitality extended to members of Alzahra University and pilgrims during the event of Arba’in in Iraq. In response, Ms. Al-Kanani conveyed her condolences regarding the recent losses and reaffirmed her commitment to serving all pilgrims of Al-Abbas (P.B.U.H).

The discussions further explored potential cooperative endeavors, including sending Alzahra University graduates to participate in the upcoming graduation ceremony for Iraqi women students for the second consecutive year. Plans were also discussed to facilitate the participation of students, professors, and staff in educational workshops, as well as cultural and religious programs hosted by the Holy Shrine of Al-Abbas (P.B.U.H). Dr. Bokaee announced the university's readiness to conduct courses in art, media literacy, and women's health for members of the Al-Kafeel universities and schools. The session concluded with both parties exchanging commemorative gifts.

Following the meeting, Dr. Zahra Sadat Mirhashemi, Dean of the Faculty of Theology, along with several members of Alzahra University who had previously traveled to Iraq, expressed their gratitude to the visiting delegation for their warm hospitality during their collaboration.
