This meeting with a group of psychology professors from the University of Leipzig with a rank of 350 in the world coordinated by Dr. Mahnaz Akhavan Tafti, Director of Educational Psychology Department, Faculty of Education and Psychological Sciences, in the afternoon of Thursday, April 30st, 2017, was held at the Parvin Etesami Hall of the International University Conference Center with present of the professors of psychology at Alzahra University. The meeting was attended by a number of professors from the universities of Imam Hussein and Baqiyatallah University of Medical Science.
Prof. Dr. Evelin Witruk, the head of German delegation, explained her research project on the study of “causes and ways of dyslexia treatment”, and suggested comparative studies on the observation of the cultural characteristics of different nations and their impact on dyslexic therapies. She mentioned Leipzig’s Psychology Institute (Founded in 1879) as the first mental health institution in Europe. Prof. Witruk will hold a dyslexic workshop in Leipzig from September 16-15, 2017. He also published a book on this subject.
Prof. Dr. Konrad Reske mentioned attending the psychologists at Alzahra University, is a really good opportunity for future cooperation. He conducts his research at the Leipzig Psychology Institute in collaboration with the Max Planck Research Institute for "Psychological Damage of Stress and Trauma." He announced his readiness to hold educational and research workshops in Iran.
Professor Mark Stock expressed his research results on "Psychology of Traffic" and also the effect of cortisol on stress control.
Dr. Parichehr Hanachi, director of International Academic Collaborations at Alzahra University, emphasized the importance of collaborating with German universities, and pointed out the impending visit of the chancellor of Alzahra University to Germany, hoping that the meetings between the heads of the universities of Iran and Germany would provide favorable conditions for this cooperation.
