Considering the growing importance of the role of media and communication media in daily life, the Digital Literacy and Behavior Media Academy, with the support of various international institutions, has been organizing a specialized annual exercise in recent years. This year, this two-week course of July 6,2017 at the American University of Lebanon in Beirut will start and will continue until August 22, 2017. Several participants from Lebanon, Egypt, Jordan, Algeria, Tunisia, Palestine, Bulgaria, China, the United States and Germany are participating in this course. Dr. Mohsen Shirazi Zadeh, a faculty member of the English language group, is also a member of this year's event.
In the opening session of the ceremony, Dr. Jad Maleki, the academic secretary, presented a series of explanations about the importance of media literacy in today's world. In particular, they emphasized the necessity of expanding media literacy in the Middle East countries and expressed their hope that in the future, this discussion would be further expanded in various scientific communities. At the start of the ceremony, the participants were silent for the respect of the Syrian reporter Khalid al-Khat, who had been martyred by ISIL forces in recent weeks and failed to attend the ceremony this year.
It is worth noting that Dr. Shirazi Zadeh's trip was funded jointly by the Beirut Academy of Digital Literature and Media and Al-Zahra University.
