Dr. Mostafa Aydin, head of Aydin University of Istanbul and Secretary of the Union of the university of Eurasia, along with Mahdie Aghazade Khoee, deputy of International Student Recruitment Office of Aydin University and Eurasia Union, who travelled to Tehran in order to participate in Asian cultural meeting held by Islamic Culture Relations Organization of Islamic Republic of Iran, and met with Dr. Mahnaz Mollanazari, Chancellor of Alzahra University, on Sunday, 14th January, 2018 from 12.00 p.m. to 13 p.m.
This meeting was held with the presence of Dr. Seif Barghi, Vice-Chancellor of Academic and Graduation Education and Dr. Hanachi, Director of International Academic Collaboration (IAC) Affairs of Alzahra University.
Dr. Aydin, while introducing his university, notified that this is one of the largest Turkish universites, having 16 faculties with 280 majors. The university also has two hospitals. The number of International Students at the University of Aydin reached about 5,000. He currently holds the presidency of the Union of Eurasian Universities. The Union of Eurasian Universities was founded in 2008 and consists of 100 universities from 40 countries in Asia and Europe.
The headquarters of the Union is in Istanbul, Turkey and currently is headed by the University of Aydin. The purpose of the union is to create a work plan for the universities of the region in order to achieve International Educational Services.
Participation in research projects, short-term projects, International conferences and seminars, networking among members of the union, support for inventions and innovations, and the promotion and development of internationalization policies for higher education, are major goals of the Union.
Dr. Mollanazari, while welcoming the guests, also elaborated that Alzahra University is the only women's public university in Iran with about 10,000 students in 10 colleges and 48 educational groups. The Alzahra Women's Research Center (WRC) is also focused on women's studies, and the Persian Language Learning Center is a virtual and personalized without gender restrictions.
Referring to the internationalization policy of the university over the past three years, the number of international students was 130. The Chancellor of the Alzahra University also expressed her hope that cooperation between the two universities could be beneficial, providing the strong cultural and neighborhood affiliation between the two countries.
The deputy for education and graduate studies at Alzahra University offered the possibility of exchanging students in the short-term courses for passing special courses.
There is also a possibility of exchange of students in foreign language and literature departments. The head of IAC of Alzahra university, with consideration of membership of Alzahra University at the Caucasus Universities Association in the second international congress on Women's Role in Family and Community Health in April 2017, pointed the signing of the Mevlana Student Exchange Protocol with a number of Turkish Universities.
The Eurasian Union of Universities intends to hold the Eurie Higher Education Expo on February 14-16, 2018 (25-27 Bahman 1396) in Istanbul, Turkey.
This exhibition will be the third largest international education event in the world with approximately 2500 executives and deputies from universities in Europe and Asia.
The 30 side panels of the exhibition are dedicated to discussing the latest high school events.
The international deputy of international exhibitions at Eurie, who invited Alzahra University to attend the exhibition, evaluated it as a great opportunity to introduce and take advantage of the opportunities offered by international students for universities.
