Presence at the Alzahra University Presidency at the Joint Meeting on the Development of Cooperation between Iran and Switzerland

Dr. Mahnaz Mollanazeri, Chancellor of Alzahra University, accompanied by Dr. Parichehr Hanachi, director of International Academic Collaboration (IAC) at the University, on Sunday, May 6th, 2018 , at the invitation of the International Center for Scientific Collaboration of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology (MSRT) anticipated at the joint meeting of the study of strategies for the development of scientific cooperation between the universities of Iran and Switzerland.

At the meeting, with the presence of high-ranking academies of the two countries at the site of the martyrs of the Islamic Jahad of the Ministry of Science, Dr. Gholami, the Minister of Science, Research and Technology, pointed to the most important areas for the development of scientific and academic cooperation between Tehran and Berne, and the holding of higher education courses Joint study in graduate schools, joint research projects, joint seminars and workshops, and exchange of professors, researcher and students between Iran and Switzerland have been among the most important areas of cooperation.

Minister of Science, the presence of the Switzerland delegation in Iran indicated that the two sides were interested in further development of scientific cooperation between Iran and Switzerland, adding that Iran, with more than four and a half million students, 42 science and technology parks, according to the most important indexes of world ranking, including Leiden and Times ranked first in the region and ranked 16th in the world's science production, and about 18 universities in Iran ranked one percent of the world's top universities. The Minister of Science, saying that Iran, with its scientific capacities, has always welcomed scientific cooperation with foreign parties, stated: Iran has extensive scientific cooperation with many Asian, European, Arabic, African as well as EU countries and the 2020 Vision Plan has it. Dr. Gholami pointed out: Although the Ministry of Science of Iran outlines the general policy of international scientific activities, universities and research centers in Iran operate independently in their scientific and international activities. At the end of the meeting, the Minister of Science hoped to achieve mutual understanding and joint action plans for the development and strengthening of scientific cooperation between Iran and Switzerland.

Dr. Ambroigio, the secretary of the Switzerland government delegation in education, research and innovation, pointed to the joint academic capacities of the two countries, and expressed the interest of Swiss universities in developing communications and scientific and academic cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran. He emphasized the need for the two countries' universities to become more active in implementing the agreements concluded as soon as possible.

At the end of the meeting, an agreement of understanding on cooperation in higher education in the development of scientific cooperation between the two countries was signed by Dr. Gholami, Minister of Science, Research and Technology, and Dr. Ambrojoiu, Secretary-General of the Governmental Council for Education, Research and Innovation.
