Dr. Arshad Abd Samad, head of the International Student Language Training Center of the Putra University, Malaysia, read out the lecture on "Language Testing and Assessment" on Monday, May 10th, 2018 at the Faculty of Literature, Alzahra University. At the meeting, which was held at the Hafez Hall in the Faculty of Literature with the presence of professors and director of the Department of English Language and Literature and graduated students of the Department of English Language as well as several professors of the Russian language department, Dr. Abd Samad talked about changing the look to the language test Learning Measure is an effective way of learning your own ideas. He added that the validity of the test had previously been mathematical and statistical aspects, while today the impact of the test is measured on the environment and society. Testing should be aimed at discovering the weaknesses of language teaching methods, while traditional methods of testing exert stress on learners and teachers, thus , it cause the degradation of educational quality. Dr. Abdul Samad emphasized the need for teacher and student interaction for an effective learning of the language in a way that leads to the student's autonomy from the professor in language learning. He also emphasized the lack of comparisons of language with indigenous language theologians, adding that with this comparison, the learners have been condemned to fail in language learning from the beginning. At the end of the meeting, there was discussions and questions asked from the presenters about the language test methods.
At the meeting, Dr. Seyedeh Susan Marandi, director of the Department of English Language and Literature, announced that she was ready to cooperate with the University of Putra in Malaysia on the exchange of students and faculty and virtual education. Dr. Abd Samad also proposed the publication of a joint article about language teaching in collaboration with the professors of two universities.
