A joint economic conference between Iran and France at the branch of Urmia, Alzahra University (2018/5/15)

The International Conference on National Production, Internal Barriers and International Challenges, in collaboration with the Economics Department of the Faculty of Social and Economic Sciences of Alzahra University, the International Academic Collaborations (IAC) of Alzahra University and the Institute for Strategic International Relations of France, with the participation of Eng. Reza Hosseini, Deputy Co-coordinator for Economic Affairs Society of the Governorate of West Azarbaijan was held at the Alzahra University in Urmia Branch on the morning of May 15th, 2018. Faculty members at the University of Alzahra, Urmia University and professors and researchers at the Institute for International and Strategic Relations of France addressed the conference.

Professor Thierry Coville, a professor and researcher at the French Institute for International Relations and Strategic Affairs, in his speech pointed to the establishment of family and capitalist companies. The need to strengthen vertical and horizontal trust in society, having modern insights, guaranteeing property rights are among the indicators that help business development.

Doctor Remy Bourgeot was another guest at the conference, which spoke about the strategies of economic and technological development with emphasis on the financial fields of small industries and international trade. He pointed out that in Iran, most of banks' money is spent on costs. He highlighted the high cost of the banking system as the root of the high rate of bank interest and emphasized the need for structural reforms in the banking system.

Dr. Esmaeil Safarzadeh, a visiting professor at Alzahra University, delivered a lecture on institutional and structural barriers around the growth of national production in Iran's economy. According to Dr. Safarzadeh, it is a qualified product that is competitive, of a high quality and non-polluting nature, and is complex. He went on to look at the effects of government reliance on tax and non-tax revenues instead of oil revenues.

Dr. Parisa Ghorbannejad, head of Orumieh Branch, appreciated the lecturers, speakers and conference supporters at the end of the conference and the meeting ended with the donation of presents to the speakers.
