The first meeting of the Working Group on Development Cooperation with the universities and institutes of education in Spain was held at the Allameh Tabatabaei University in Tehran with the participation of international departments and managers of universities and research institutes all over the country on Monday, February 18th, 2019. Following previous co-operation with the Spanish universities, including the signing of a memorandum with the University of Alicante and the Autonoma of Barcelona, as well as the workshop organized by Mr. José Cutillas, professor at the University of Alicante, Faculty of Theology, Alzahra University, as well as Mrs. Eva Sánchez, in charge of Erasmus Affairs at the University of Alicante Alzahra University headed by Dr. Parichehr Hanachi, head of International Scientific Collaboration at Alzahra University and Hamideh Karimi and Roshanak Zarrin-Qalami, international experts at Alzahra University. Representatives from the Spanish Embassy, Shahid Beheshti University, Shahrekord University, Aerospace Research Center, Tarbiat Modarres University, Arak University, Science and Technology University, Kharazmi University, Shiraz University, Persian Gulf University, Kurdistan University, Human Sciences Research Center, Bu-Ali Sina University, Hamedan University, Shahid Chamran of Ahvaz, University of Ardabil, University of Tehran, Yazd University and the University of Guilan. At the beginning of the meeting, after welcoming Dr. Mandana Tishe Yar, head of International Scientific Collaboration at Allameh Tabatabaei University, Dr. Hamid Reza Oloumi Yazdi, Deputy Allameh Tabatabaei University, emphasized scientific and research collaboration with Spanish universities. Then Dr. Najmeh Shobeiri, head of the Spanish Language and Literature Department at Allameh Tabatabai University, presented a comprehensive report on the history and international cooperation with Spanish universities. Following him, the managers and representatives of universities in the field of scientific and research cooperation with the universities of Spain put forward some issues. In this regard, Dr. Hanachi will discuss future cooperation with Spanish universities, collaborating with the University of Alicante, the University of Barcelona, Carlos III and the University of Compool in the form of student and professor exchange as well as Farsi language training, Satiago de Compostela University on the exchange of professors and students in The Erasmus + program was introduced. Dr. Tishe Yar later spoke about the future plans of Allameh Tabatabaei University as the strategic focal point for cooperation with Spanish universities. Bilateral meetings with the presence of universities in Iran and Spain next year, as well as cooperation in conducting training courses at the Khayyam University of Allameh Tabatabaei University, at the University of Nebrika, Spain, are among the most important issues discussed at the working group meeting.
