Scientific Attaché of Iran in Indian Subcontinent visits Alzahra University

Dr. Mohammadreza Khalili, Scientific Attaché of Iran in Indian Subcontinent, met with Dr. Kordbache; dean of Social Sciences and Economics Faculty on Tuesday, September 6th, 2016. In this meeting Dr. Tavassoli, deputy of research and international relations of the faculty, Dr. Nazem Bokaee, dean of Biological Sciences Faculty and Dr. Hosseini, deputy of research of the Biological Sciences Faculty.

The dean of Social Sciences and Economics Faculty, referred to the University’s Strategic Planning about international cooperation, mentioned that his faculty is the first to set up the deputy of International Cooperation, therefore the faculty is executing some cooperative projects.

The dean of Biological Sciences Faculty hoped that this meeting will aim the Supreme Leader’s advice about the scientific cooperation between our country and other academic institutions all over the world. She mentioned: “Alzahra University as a symbol of women education and based on the visions of the university, will aim toward the best university of women in national and regional level.

Dr. Khalili, referred to the status of Iranian students in the Subcontinent, suggested starting a joint research project, especially in supervising post-graduate thesis. In this regard it was decided that the faculties announce research areas and the professors and Alzahra University will announce its support package from the post-graduate thesis. Students’ stay in Iran will be counted as their educational period and will be mentioned in their certificate. Also it was suggested that Alzahra University nominate some of its PhD candidates to do their sabbatical leave for 6-9 months in India. Scientific attaché of Iran in India will support the students financially.

Dr. Hosseini referred to research projects of botanical department in the area of medicinal plants, asked to start scientific and research cooperation with the Biotechnology Center of India. In this regard the faculty will be announcing its suggestions to the attaché.

It was also decided that in order to benefit from the MoU between Alzahra University and Jawaharlal Nehru University of India, joint thesis projects of Iranian or non-Iranian students whose topics are about Iran becomes activated and the signing of the MoU between Alzahra University and two Universities of “Jamia Millia Islamia” and “Aligarh Muslim University” be processed.
