International Association of Universities (IAU) held its 15th General Conference on Sunday November 13th, 2016 in Bangkok, Thailand, with the theme of “Higher-Education: A Catalyst for Innovative and Sustainable Societies”. The member chancellors all over the world attended the conference. IAU is UNESCO’s largest international association with regard to university issues. The General Conference is held every 4 years in one of the member universities.
Dr. Parichehr Hanachi, the director of International Academic collaborations of Alzahra University, attended this conference on behalf of Dr. Ensieh Khazali, the Chancellor of Alzahra University; along with chancellors of universities of Tehran, Tabriz, Isfahan, Yazd, Allameh Tabatabaii, Elm-o-Sanat, Bu-Ali-Sina, Al-Mustafa University and on.
In the election, which was to elect the executive board of IAU, Tehran University’s Chancellor, Dr. Mahmoud Nili Ahmadabadi, was elected as a member of executive board for 2016-2020.
