A high-ranked French delegation visited Alzahra University and met with Alzahra University officials. The delegation consisted of Nathalie Dompnier, President of Louis Lumiere University; Francis Kern, Vice-President of international Relations of Strasbourg University; Christine Maillard, Director of Inter-University Relations of Strasbourg University; Fabrice Boudjaaba, from Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences and they met with the deans of Faculties of Literature, Theology, Social Sciences and Economics, Education and Psychology, Arts and the director of international Academic Collaborations office of Alzahra University. In this meeting the Chancellor was represented by Dr. Atefe Navarchi, the Director of Chancellor office.
The session started with introductory movie of Alzahra University in French and the officials presented their Faculties. Dr. Javani; representative of Theology Faculty, pointed to the collaborations between Potsdam University and Goethe University Frankfurt, mentioned that the Faculty is ready to start the collaborations in comparative researches of religions with French Universities. Dr. Hesami, dean of Arts Faculty, suggested holding joint workshops of painting, graphics, fashion design, textile design. Dr. Ghahremani Ghajar, dean of Literature Faculty, proposed admission of sabbaticals and holding Persian Language courses. Dr. Hanachi, the director of International Academic Collaborations, suggested publishing joint journals, admission of sabbaticals and exchanging professors for short term or long term courses.
Christine Maillard, Director of Inter-University Relations of Strasbourg University, made some suggestions on joint research programs in Islamic History and Philosophy and exchanging professors in Shiism Courses. Strasbourg University is the only French University which enrolls students in Islamic History and Persian Language.
Along with this meeting, an exhibition with artworks of Art students of Alzahra University was settled which was received gladly.
